The sun showed up this morning with a smile, greeting everyone with its radiant rays. Just like how a line from a popular song goes, “there’s a rainbow after the rain…”, the week opens with a warm greeting on this side of the planet.
However, the heavy downpour on the past weekend according to the news updates have left many in some parts of the country without shelter and basic necessities. Let us all share what we can whenever possible, starting with prayers for their safety. Filipinos are resilient. We can rebuild. We just have to lend a hand to help them start over. Let us participate in the call for help from our local churches or other organizations. Even if we can only give a little amount or in kind, there would be some brother or sister who can benefit from it. Isn’t it in giving that we receive more of the gifts that cannot be bought in any store? …Have a great week ahead! =)

It’s sunday and we were not able to attend mass in church this morning. The typhoon signal is now #3. It’s a good thing there are Holy masses televised.
Right after lunch, we discovered that the basement was filled with water again. The rain have seeped through the cracks on the floor. I don’t know how to fix it so it’s back to the dry rag-wet rag wiping for now. I hope I can later find a D-I-Y site to find a way to solve this. It’s like being in a small boat with holes. =)

It’s a great blessing to be able to get in touch again with people you haven’t seen or heard for a long time… thank God for this technology.Â
With computers and internet connections, we get to learn a lot of things with a click or two… thank God for this technology.
I get to fix my pictures and share them with my friends anywhere in the world…thank God for this technology.
I even get to read the bible readings for the day through my daily mail of the KFam’s “Didache”, “Sabbath” & “Companion”…thank God for this technology.
There are a lot to be thankful for, this technology is just one of them. Let us not forget that as the sun rises for another new day, it’s thanking God (for everything!!), that’s the most important. =)

Happy New Year!!!!
It’s goodbye 2007
and welcome 2008
!!! Another year for learning and growing purposively. Lots of chances to start anew — to do away with old habits that delay a productive life, to stay fit and keep a healthy lifestyle, etc., etc., etc… hmmmmm… Everybody can do changes. As long as we “put our hearts into it”. Even the Care Bears would agree!
What this new year will bring us is something for us to wait and see. But it does not mean that we’ll just sit and relax and wait for an apple to fall. As one of the inspiring quotes I’ve heard says, “You may be on the right track but you may be sidetracked if you just sit on it.” A good food for thought, isn’t it?
For that we need action. ==> …ok, rolling, …lights, …camera, ……AAAAACTION!!
Well, it’s not that kind that we need to do where others are to see and watch us. We need to focus on plans and actions that make us a better person than last year even without anyone looking. Maybe, just like a tree that changes in season, we could all let go of those bad habits and start building up new ones, keeping in mind that the new actions will be towards our personal growth–mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, (financially also with organized effort and as God provides!) and the growth too of those people around us and those we get to meet everyday.
For this new year, I’d like to keep in mind this word combinations: “Live life, love life, share life” together with the legacy our “Itay” taught us (think ahead, look ahead, go ahead). We are just passing this life once but we can always have the chance to touch someone’s life.
With due respect to whoever you are who wrote it and my friend who sent the following text message, I’d like to post this message here so that others may also be reminded: (By the way, Thanks for this Ags!
)
TIPS FOR A HEALTHY LIFE:
1. More vegetables, less meat;
2. More vinegar, less salt;
3. More fruits, less sweets;
4. Chew more, eat less;
5. More water, less soda;
6. More deeds, less talk;
7. More sharing, less desires;
8. More walk, less rides;
9. More laughter, less anger;
10. More prayers, NO worries!
Here’s to a New Year of opportunities to learn, to grow, to love, to share our lives with others and those we love most.
God bless!!!

  :wink:          hello world!! I’m still here…. just got busy these past weeks because of my new assignment at work. Being in this business of touching lives, we are all expected to deliver our best to our clients, the children.  :wink:Â
         we’ll, what can I share with you? Hmmm… with my new assignment, that is, teaching science to graders in the intermediate, what I can say is… ta dah!! It’s fun and exciting!!! …especially in doing activities where you’d see the faces of the kids amazed with their observations and hearing them say, “…oh! …wow!…”. The preparations for it are worth it. Even though I would stay late at night some days just to understand some concepts and facts and prepare and simplify it for them, joy fills my heart seeing their faces. Although, my frustration is, I’m not able to write more often than before   :sad: because I need to read a lot first. Oh well, a few more days and I’ll be able to post more things again.  :grin:Â
         ok, got to do some house chores… be back with you later. God bless you!!  :smile:Â

Last Friday, October 26th, we had a parade for the celebration of United Nations. Kids from the preschool, aged 4-6, were all dressed up with the national costumes of different countries. The graders and high school students had their banners and flags.
As I was following the parade, taking pictures here and there, I noticed a small boy come out from one of the corners. He was carrying a sack almost 3/4 his size with pieces of wood in it. I got interested of following him and watched him as he walked just in front of me carrying the big sack on his back. I got curious where he was going so I walked side by side with him and asked him. He was a bit surprised that a stranger bothered him in his journey. He said he was going to bring the sack’s contents there.
I walked pass him a few steps to get a front view angle shot. He got a bit conscious this time, trying to avoid me. What made me more curious to inquire about him was his focus on his task at the moment to deliver his goods to that “there” that he was saying. I happen to know that he was just seven years old.
I got a bit nervous when big buses, jeepneys and cars passed him too close as he continued walking in front of me. I offered to carry his sack and he readily gave it. Although it was lite for me, for a seven year old of his size, it was a bit heavy.
Earlier, I was trying to catch the pupils in their colorful clothes, proud of their achievements parading with their parents without tantrums. But here was a kid, older than a year but smaller in frame and size who was working after school hours… I later learned from a co-worker from that town that it has been a practice there by some parents. Child labor at that age? Hmmm…
I do share the belief that we should teach kids to do their share of responsibility at home according to what they can do at a certain age in preparation for life. But I hope, kids of that age can still enjoy their childhood, playing and spending time with their playmates and siblings as much as they can before they grow up and face the life meant for them.
Anyway, “Hapon”, aged 7, might just be a little kid, but he’s a hero in his own right.

I just saw a preview of the women awards on Studio 23, where Teri Hatcher was one of the presenters, recognizing the women who have made a difference in theirs and others’ lives…
As we reflect everyday, we make a checklist of people we are thankful of. For my family, I’m so grateful for my sisters-in-law (besides mom, my brothers and sis, of course!
)
We may not be chatting everyday, but their presence have made our family closer in spirit and love. Through the guidance and discipline that they have been doing with my nephews, I know these boys will grow up to be fine gentlemen someday. As for me, they have taught me life lessons through their examples and nurturing concern for theirs and this family. I may not have said a lot to tell them how I appreciate them that they are a part of my brothers’ lives and my bio-family too… I guess, I’ll just sing them this song:
“Sometimes, not often enough
We reflect upon the good things
And our thoughts always center around those we love
And I think about these people who mean so much to me
And for so many years have made me so very happy
And I count the times I have forgotten to say, “thank you …”
And just how much, I love (and appreciate) you…..”
“tissue please!!”
…’we’ll, isn’t it nice if we could let these sisters-in-law feel how they have made a difference in our lives?
huggs and kisses to you sis!!
