It started last year, this date would always be a special day. We remember two important events in our family. It’s a celebration of life for my brother and a celebration of a life well lived for our dear Itay.
Cheers to you bro!! …to you Itay, your legacy will live in our hearts always! ‘love you both!!
Have a great Thursday! God bless you!! Thanks for the visit! =)
It’s a fun, fun Friday!!
My best friend was here this afternoon! We haven’t seen each other for almost a year. But we manage to keep in touch through sms. She has been married for ten years now, with two kids. We have known each other since our elementary years because we lived on the same street and our moms work at the same school. But we got to know each other better when we got to work together 16 years back.
I miss the times when we would travel together on Saturdays to study for our masteral degree. Besides working together to pass our subjects, it was a time that we got to share more of our views about life, our dreams, boys, etc…, chanting, “God is good. God is great. God provides ALL THE TIME!!” whenever we would be catching up for the last trip of the bus to go back home. So many memories, so much adventures and misadventures… =) …That’s why whenever we would have a chance to catch up with each other, a few minutes wouldn’t be enough. We spent the afternoon talking about each other’s stories, especially about her worklife, her hubby and her two boys until it was dark. If not for the need to really go home to her brood, our conversation would have continued.
I’m blessed to have a friend like her, through thick and thin, through bad hair days and good ones. She is there always whenever I need a hand, an ear or a hanky. She’s a wonderwoman with a knack for being cool under pressure and very funny with her antics. She has taught me a lot of stuff with the stories she shared. I got to know more about myself too whenever she gives me feedback about how I handled situations at hand. Growing and learning together… What a gem in a million!!!
Whenever you would have a chance to have a friend like that, treasure them dearly. For you’ll have one of the greatest treasures this life has to offer! Hurray for best friends!!! =)
It was a cloudy Thursday today on this side of the planet. Early this morning, around 7:30, the electricity was off. All the planned activities today, specially using the computer had to be changed.
It sure was different than the past few days in the house. No music or tv was heard. It was a time to hear only the chirping of the birds, the sound of motor vehicles passing in the main road once in a while. It was a time to treasure silence.
I did some tending of the vegetable garden yesterday. There have been some yellow and brown leaves on the sayote vines already. I wasn’t able to remove them as much as I can regularly because of the unpredictable rainshowers.
I was almost done with the pruning when …swooosh!… a sudden pain was felt on my left arm. About two inches of a bloody red line was beginning to show. I later discovered that I got scratched by a wire which was protruded along the trellis. Luckily, I guess my platelets are very active that the blood clotted immediately. Thank God for platelets!!! But it’s still best to be extra careful with pointed things. =)
It’s another day for blogging lessons again! (Thanks Mai!)
As I was trying on the manage field on my site, I happen to see the photo I loaded before. I wanted to post it and tell a story about it. As I tried to copy it and put it here on the post, I had a server error!!
Being new to this blogging thing, I panicked loosing my page. Good thing it took only a minute to recover. Whew!! That’s life. Its really part of learning the a-b-c’s. =)
I got busy these past few days. I wasn’t able to write or check on my blog. Wow! there have been other visitors!! Thanks mai, liza, imelda, arthritis treatment(thanks for the info! =) ) …and to those who did visit! Thank you!!
Just be patient with me. I’m still learning the ropes here: how to tag, how to add links, make blogroll, etc… I’m so thankful there’s my sis-in-law & bro, patiently teaching me (they have been my frequent visitors before). Heaven’s blessings just like my readers! Thanks to all of you!!
I like writing. It has been my dream to become a good writer. That’s why I’m so thankful for this chance to give my mind a voice. The Bible did say, “The works of God are all of them good; in its own time every need is supplied.-Sirach 39:16″ ‘Guess its time to fulfill the dream… Right now, my mind is singing that song, (don’t know the exact lyrics and the singer, but it goes something like this), “fields of green,…red roses too,… and I sing to myself, what a wonderful world…”
Last weekend, we experienced a terrible typhoon. It left many damages to different places. Here in the house, it’s minimal but the cleaning part takes a lot of time & energy.
When I decided to clear up the back of the house this morning, I thought it would take about half an hour only. Because it had been cemented, I thought I’ll just sweep up the dry leaves, dirt and dust. However, I was not satisfied to see the cemented lot turning green because of the moss beginning to grow here and there. So, I grabbed the brush, got a pail and dipper and started brushing.
Whew!!! The planned 30 minutes cleaning took me 4 hours to finish! As I went along cleaning only a part of the backyard, I ended up cleaning the adjoining area here, the canal there… (because of the mud that had accumulated there clogging the drainage). Arrrrgh!!!… Now, at the end of the day, my hands feel bad (arthritis making a dash!), my back aches, …haaaaaaay!.
Good thing, the weather was sunny today. During the afternoon, my consolation was seeing the cemented part of the backyard, clean and neat as before. Well, after the rains, there’s pain… but surely, the gain is a great feeling! =)
